The Kronos goal:

Our patented extension-assisting hinge is engineered to dynamically offload over 60 pounds from the patellofemoral joint.
This significant reduction in force on the knee leads to diminished pain experienced by patients during ambulation.
Initial feedback from clinicians and patients indicates the potential of the KRONOS to restore activity at a faster rate compared to alternative post-operative bracing solutions, owing to the alleviated discomfort. Research suggests that higher levels of activity during the early stages of recovery can effectively mitigate quad atrophy, ultimately contributing to superior long-term post-operative outcomes.
An EMG study conducted at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush with the Unloading Knee Brace indicates reduction in major quadricep activation during squats, which correlates with a reduction in forces within the knee joint during activity. As a result, it is suspected that the extensor mechanism and knee joint are unloaded in order to prevent damage to the surgical site, while also allowing some range of motion during recovery.

Warranty Information
The Kronos Knee Brace includes a five-year warranty on the frame, tensioning system, and hinges for custom models, with pads and straps covered for six months. Off-the-shelf models have a two-year warranty on the frame, tensioning system, and hinges, and six months on pads and straps.
