About the Study
Recently published in Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, an AANA journal, the study evaluated the clinical outcomes and wear compliance associated with a custom-fit anterior knee unloader brace. The research included 113 patients and 134 knees with patellofemoral osteoarthritis or multicompartment knee osteoarthritis with patellofemoral involvement. Participants wore the Icarus Medical Ascender Knee Brace during daily activities for four weeks.
Key Findings
• 59.3% average improvement in VAS pain scores
• KOOS JR improved 63.8% on average
• 56.9% of patients wore the brace 4 times per week
