Introducing a New Class of Active Hip Abduction Bracing

The Hypnos Hip Brace is the first brace specifically designed to provide Dynamic Abduction Assistance for patients with Trendelenburg gait. While traditional hip braces stabilize the joint or limit motion, Hypnos actively supplements weakened hip abductors through patient-adjustable assistance to improve pelvic stability, reduce compensatory movement, and restore more natural gait mechanics.

Hypnos is currently in the final stages of product development and is available to a limited number of clinical partners through our Clinical Pilot Program. Icarus Medical is expanding participation by offering early access to a select group of orthopedic, rehabilitation, and orthotic providers interested in evaluating the technology and providing clinical feedback prior to commercial launch.

Learn more about the clinical rationale behind Dynamic Abduction Assistance in our white paper, How the Hypnos Abduction Assist Hip Brace Supports Stable Walking in Patients with Trendelenburg Gait, which explores the biomechanics of Trendelenburg gait and how active hip abduction assistance may help improve pelvic stability and gait mechanics.

Why Hypnos?

Traditional hip braces are designed primarily to restrict motion and protect healing tissues. Hypnos takes a different approach by providing dynamic abduction assistance to supplement weakened hip abductors during ambulation.

Designed to support patients with gluteus medius and minimus deficiency, Hypnos delivers adjustable assistance that can be tailored to the individual’s condition, activity level, and stage of rehabilitation.
